Yesterday we went back to Jump Giants (a huge trampoline park out to the east of London). It was my 3rd trip there and every time I feel like a little kid again. Oh boy, I love that place!
I try to set a goal for myself before each session. The first time I wanted to get comfortable with front flips (I knew I could do them) and try back flips (I was scared of trying them), and I reached both goals. The second time I wanted to try wall flips (backflip off the wall trampoline), but ended up being too scared to try one, so my little achievement was doing two backflips in a row (which felt really nice).
This time I wanted to go for that wall flip again. After a lot of wall jumping and regular back flips to get some confidence, I finally tried them. I did probably ten of them, with lots of bails because I found it really hard to control the horizontal bounce I was getting from the wall trampoline – sometimes I would go 2 meters backwards while other times I would land close to the wall. I need to get more comfortable with them the next time I go there.
Right at the end of the session I went to the foam pool and tried a couple of double front flips (basically tucking and trying to rotate as much as possible without caring for the landing). I almost got two full rotations on my second try.
